TEDDY was founded on the 24th May 2024 by survivors of serious historical child sexual abuse Mark Doye from Ely and Gay Melrose from Dartford.

Our Mission Statement

  • To bring change to the way society think and shy away from talking about the topic of child sexual abuse.


  • By creating safe spaces for open and honest discussions about child and historical child sexual abuse is crucial in addressing this sensitive issue.


  • Offer confidential support for survivors and their families, to speak out and seek help and advice.


  • Encourage and highlight the importance of reporting child and historical child sexual abuse and rapes. As it is fundamental for finding closure and seeking the justice every survivor deserves.

  

  • To create safe spaces and support systems to encourage more boys and men to feel comfortable speaking out about child and historical child sexual abuse and rapes.


  • Creating an inclusive support group, is a key part to encouraging individuals from diverse backgrounds to come forward to seek help and advice that’s required.


  • To encourage young teenage girls who have experienced child sexual abuse and are anxious about the possibility of being pregnant, to find the help and support that is needed.

  

  • To have a 24/7 support system operational every day of the year, our helplines will then ensure uninterrupted access to help and advice whenever its needed.


  • To have walk-in centres in the UK ,which would provide convenient access for help and advice in various locations across the country.

  

  • To develop a safe and secure app for children to report child sexual abuse is a crucial initiative. This app will include features such as a panic button for immediate assistance, secure messaging options to report incidents discreetly. 


  • To have qualified professionals working under the umbrella of the Teddy organisation.

  

  • To have funds available to help families financially with the burden of costs during the court trial when the Crown Prosecution Service does not pay expenses. 


  • To offer a selection of free holiday lets throughout the country at various locations. For victims and their families to have a short break away after a stressful court trial.


  • To have a selection of multilingual volunteers on the team. 


  • To become a registered Charity.
